Congratulation for your outstanding achivement in making this fascinating
symposium possible.
I think that it will remain as a milestone in the field of dissemination of
science and medicine.
For me the most exciting is to learn that the discussion will continue
during one year.
I was frustrated by computer problem which permit me to get the mails but
most my answers were blocked and could not reach the participants.
I will therefore continue to send my comments as soon as my system will be
back in order.

Felicitaciones por su extraordinario logro haciendo que este fascinante
simposio fuera posible.
Creo que permanecera como un hito en el campo de la difusion de la ciencia y
la medicina.
Para mi, lo mas emocionante fue saber que la discusion continuara por un
anio.
Me senti frustrado por un problema informatico que me permitia recibir los
mensajes, pero la mayoria de mis respuestas fueron bloqueadas y no podian
llegar a los participantes.
Por lo tanto, continuare enviando mis comentarios tan pronto como mi sistema
funcione correctamente nuevamente.

With this message the First International Symposium on ARVD on the Internet
is officially closed. We would like to thank all participants and lecturers
for their active contribution to this symposium. We are pleased to inform
you
that we had over 2100 participants registered during our congress, taking
advantage of spectrum of interesting presentations and discussions.
The experience has been intense and vibrant, as it was actively reflected in
the participation of the registrants from all over the world, who sent to
the
Discussion Forum their opinions, questions and clarified their doubts that
were also actively answered by the most experienced researchers in the
topic,
from the most varied specialties and origins.
And there were even more who followed with quiet interest all the
presentations and debates made.
Once again, the power of the Internet, when used for these academic and
scientific goals, has been proven by carrying out this event. Many
colleagues
are already veterans regarding their participation in these Symposia and
Conferences through the Internet, and others have made of this their first
experience.
The responses from cardiologists around the world exceeded our expectations,
and clearly, this approach answered an unmet need and has major educational
potential. Although we initiated the Virtual Cardiac Symposia with the idea
of assisting cardiologists caring for patients with relatively infrequent
cardiac conditions, we believe that this Internet-based educational approach
will have similar applicability and value for cardiologists caring for
patients with common cardiac disorders.
Unlike standard conventions and symposia that end when the last light is
turned off in the conference hall, nothing prevents that our new colleagues
may seize the teachings from this Symposium on the Internet, since all that
has been published, including radio transmissions and the files of the
Forum,
remain available in the website. In fact, we still have new colleagues
registering to get access to the LQTS Virtual Symposium from a year ago. We
will keep current ARVD Virtual Symposium accessible for at least a year,
contributing to further understanding and knowledge regarding this
interesting disorder.
Once again, we would like to thank all the members of our faculty, who
served
with their expert knowledge so that the Symposium could excel as it finally
did. The panelists who sent interesting questions that were replied day by
day, especially by Drs. Guy Fontaine and Frank Marcus, pioneers describing
this disease. We thank all the participants, without whom all the effort
would have been meaningless.
We also would like to thank the team of the Akros Group, especially to Maria
Isabel Ayala, Georgina E. Warlet, Ariel Guebel, Gabriela Hecht MD, Fernando
Schapachnik BS, Martin Vidal, Celeste Justel, Susana Torok, and Alejo
Schapachnik.
We very much appreciate financial support of this innovative form of
education
by Ela Medical and CV Therapeutics.
For us, this has been an extremely useful experience and the response
obtained, generates strength for us to plan another Symposium of similar
characteristics for the near future, which will deal with Atrial
Fibrillation, to be held next October 2005.

Concluyen con este mail las deliberaciones del Primer Simposio Internacional
sobre DAVD en Internet. Nos gustaria agradecerles a todos los participantes
y conferencistas por su activa contribucion con este simposio. Nos complace
informarles que tuvimos mas de 2100 participantes inscriptos durante nuestro
congreso, que aprovecharon el espectro de interesantes presentaciones y
discusiones.
La experiencia ha sido intensa y vibrante, como se reflejó activamente en la
participación de inscriptos de todo el mundo que enviaron al Foro de
Discusion opiniones, preguntas y aclararon dudas que fueron tambien
activamente respondidas por los mas experimentados investigadores en el tema
de las mas diversas especialidades y proveniencias.
Y fueron aun mas aquellos que siguieron con callado interes todas las
exposiciones y debates realizados.
Una vez mas queda demostrado con la realizacion del evento, el poder de
Internet, cuando es utilizada para estos fines academicos y cientificos.
Muchos colegas ya son veteranos en cuanto a su participacion en estos
Simposios y Congresos a traves de Internet y muchos otros han hecho con esta
su primera experiencia. Las respuestas de los cardiologos alrededor del
mundo excedieron nuestras expectativas, y claramente, este enfoque respondio
a una necesidad que no se habia satisfecho y tiene un potencial educativo
muy importante. Aunque iniciamos el Simposio Cardiaco Virtual con la idea de
asistir a los cardiologos que cuidan a los pacientes con afecciones
cardiacas relativamente poco frecuentes, creemos que este enfoque educativo
basado en la Internet tendra una aplicabilidad similar y un valor para los
cardiologos que cuidan de sus pacientes con trastornos cardiacos comunes.
A diferencia de las convenciones y simposios estandar que terminan cuando se
apaga la ultima luz de la sala de conferencias, nada impide que nuestros
nuevos colegas puedan aprovechar las enseñanzas de este Simposio en
Internet, ya que todo lo publicado, incluyendo las emisiones de radio y los
archivos del Foro, quedan disponibles en el website. De hecho, aun hay
colegas nuevos que se estan inscribiendo para obtener acceso al Simposio de
LQTS, que se llevo a cabo hace un anio. Mantendremos el actual Simposio
Virtual de DAVD disponible por al menos un anio, contribuyendo a una mayor
comprension y conocimiento de este interesante trastorno.
Una vez mas, nos gustaria agradecerles a todos los faculties, que pusieron
todo su saber para que el Simposio tuviera el brillo que finalmente tuvo. A
los panelistas que enviaron inteligentes preguntas que dia a dia fueron
respondidas y muy especialmente a Guy Fontaine y Frank Marcus, pioneros en
la descripcion de esta enfermedad. Le agradecemos a todos los participantes,
sin quienes todo el esfuerzo hubiera carecido de significado.
Tambien nos gustaria agradecerle al equipo de Akros Group, en especial a
