I am and have been a pediatric RN for over 30 years. I am also an ARVD
patient and have had a great deal of experience and communication with a
very large ARVD patient population for over 6 years. One of my major tasks is
observation and patient education. We are seeing very subtle, but what
seems to be apparent arrival of concealed ARVD in some of our population's
children.
This is, of course, of great concern to our parents who do not wish their
children to have a bad experience, nor do they wish to lose them suddenly.
The object is education and prevention. I believe it would be of great
value for the members of this forum to engage in a sharing about the pediatric
patients in their patient population. Perhaps a pattern of information or
some revelation would surface that would reveal that which could assist
everyone in the early diagnosis and treatment of these children.

Per "Is arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy a paediatric
problem too?" [Turrini P, Basso C, Daliento L, Nava A, Thiene G. Images
Paediatr Cardiol 2000;6:18-37] states:

"The disease is seldom recognised in infancy or under the age of 10,
probably because the clinical expression of the disease is normally postponed
to youth and adulthood."

The clinical expression reveals that which has already existed for some time
and kept children at risk."

Ref: "Is arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy a pediatric problem
too?" [Turrini P, Basso C, Daliento L, Nava A, Thiene G. Images Paediatr
Cardiol 2000;6:18-37] afirma:
